JBX PaperPak End of Year Newsletter

Mission - Green Background Logos

It’s that time of year again! Christmas is just around the corner and here at JBX Paperpak we are feeling very festive. Christmas is a time when we come together to celebrate with friends and family and bring the year to a merry end.

We feel, therefore, that this is the perfect opportunity to both look back at the year that has just passed and ahead at the year to come.

In 2020, we all learned to cherish the time we get to spend with our loved ones and not take it for granted as, as we have seen this year, it can be taken away at any moment. That is a lesson we should all take with us into 2021 and beyond.

So, what did 2020 mean for JBX?

Well, this year we moved into and set up our new state-of-the-art facility in which we manufacture our products. This process was a challenge for us, from sourcing and installing the machinery to setting up the premises to meet our needs.

We were also able to provide career opportunities for 9 local people, who we have trained to be expert technicians at operating the machinery. JBX PaperPak is proud of being a part of the local community around Dublin, employing local people and supporting other local business partners.

This year we invested heavily in both time and money into getting our brand-new website developed, and it is both beautifully designed and incredibly user friendly. In addition to our online store where we sell our products, we also have a news page where we keep you up to date with all the latest JBX developments as well as the latest news in sustainability.

Beginning in November, we launched our first ever JBX PaperPak Christmas giveaway competition. We thought it would be a fun and engaging way to end the year by giving everyone the chance to win over €1,000 worth of Irish prizes. These included brands such as Baileys, Jameson and Barry’s Tea, with the main prize being a bottle of the very rare and incredibly delicious Redbreast 27-year aged Irish Whiskey worth €500. Our lucky winner this year was Aaron Fitzpatrick, so another big congratulations goes out to him!

We feel it is fair of us to say that, as first years go, ours has been very busy and very exciting!

But as always, one year coming to an end means that a new year is about to begin, and we are very excited about everything we have planned. We have many plans for growth and expansion for the upcoming year and we believe we are in a great position to hit the ground running in 2021.

The biggest change we are looking to make next year is to grow our team; over the next 12-18 months we expect to at least double our workforce, bringing even more local people onto the team.

We will be needing all the extra manpower for all of the many new products we are going to be launching over the next year!

We have many new sustainable eco products that we will be adding to our store in 2021, so make sure you are checking out our website (www.jbxpaperpak.com) regularly as well as following our social medias to keep up to date with our newest releases.

Despite this year and everything it has thrown at us we remain optimistic for the year to come; we will continue to persevere and grow no matter what comes our way.

But for now, let us just all enjoy the festive season. Wherever you are we hope you are safe and well; we would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and we hope that you have a happy new year.

Warmest regards,

The JBX PaperPak Family!

Our paper straws are made by stacking 3 plies of high-quality food grade kraft paper and putting them through a core-winding machine that applies an adhesive and rolls the straws into shape. They are then cut to size, coated in lacquer to ensure quality and are then ready to be sold.
